Twenty-seven years ago, we were just two high school kids, caught up in the magic of young love—passing notes, stealing glances in crowded hallways, and working long weekends in the PAC. Through every high and low, from teenage dreams to life’s biggest milestones, we’ve walked this path together.

Now, with three teenage sons of our own, we see reflections of our younger selves in them—the excitement of new experiences, the challenges of finding balance, the cultivation of close friendships. Watching them navigate their own high school experiences stirs memories of late-night talks, school dances, and the lessons we learned along the way.

Through every challenge, we’ve become stronger, learning that love isn’t just about romance—it’s about resilience, laughter, and choosing each other every day. We’ve built a life filled with love, one that started in Finneytown's hallways and continues to grow in ways we never imagined.

Chris and Katie fell for each other in high school Woodshop class. Mr Dickerson would holler out for them to pay attention “Romeo!! Juliet!!“. They dated long distance through college getting to enjoy the best of both schools; Miami and OSU. They both knew they wanted to explore beyond the Midwest after graduation so when Chris was offered a job in San Diego it was an easy choice.  They’ve been married 5 years now, still live in San Diego with their dog and cat, and are expecting a baby boy due in April.

Dated 8th grade through 10th grade (2002). Jeff caught Nancy's eye during the 8th grade Washington DC trip wearing a cut-off T shirt. Love notes started shortly after that were passed in the halls. Their love for one another crossed paths again 10+ years later. Favorite Finneytown memories are school dances and walking the neighborhood.

Sue and I met at an after football square dance. We were in the same square. However, we didn't start to see each other until we were in the same musical, The Pajama Game. I went to Indiana University and Sue decided to go there as well. It took until her senior year for us to decide we should get married. That was 35 years ago, and she is still my best friend.

Abby and I met in high school and became great friends during her senior year and my junior year. My first memory of her was meeting her at the Friday night football game and being in awe of how beautiful she was and how fun she was to be around, even when she got hit in the face by a football haha. I knew very early she was the girl for me! Abby's first memory of me was when I first came to finneytown my 8th grade year, and my black and green DC skater shoes stood out along with my height haha, yikes those were rough days. Our favorite finneytown high school memory was driving around at night with our friends, laughing, singing songs, and just living life without a care in the world! We started dating in 2011 and have been married since 2016, and have a daughter Ruby (4), son Joel (2), and a baby girl on the way!

We started dating January of our senior year! Dated all through college at Purdue and got married and moved back to Cinci after graduation. We moved back to Finneytown in 2021 and have kids attending the elementary school - full circle!

We did not know each other in high school. A friend, Nancy Biederman introduced us in fall of 1975. We dated - off and on for a while and finally tied the knot in June 1979. I knew who Mike was in high school because he played football.

Mark and I were next door neighbors years before we started dating. We've been married almost 45 years and we have three children and seven grandchildren. We love spending time with our family and we like to travel!

We meet 18 years after graduation on the back of a U-Haul truck helping his co-worker and my friend move. Didn't know each other in high school, but our lives ran parallel - places worked, places lived, and cross country moves out and back before we met thanks to someone not connected to Finneytown.

Ryan and I met in kindergarten at Finneytown in Mrs. Fountains class! We grew up as friends and have so many good memories in Finneytown. We became high school sweethearts during our Junior year of high school. We graduated in 2017, and in 2021, we finally got married. We have two beautiful children, one boy and one girl, who are now attending Finneytown School!!

I actually graduated with his older brother but did kind of know him. He was a wrestler and I was a wrestlette. But he ended up going to Diamond Oaks, we married (and divorced) other people. We reconnected briefly when I worked at a bank his company used, then lost touch for a few years. After a very brief second marriage (me), we got back in touch and the rest is history. He and his brothers rode the bus my mom drove to school, but outside of wrestling, we didn't spend time together in school.

Eddie and Becca’s story began in 4th grade, when they were classmates in Ms. Miller’s class. Eddie still has a notebook from that time, where he wrote Becca’s name. Their journey took a new direction in 10th grade after a band/choir trip to Disney, when they started dating. Though they eventually broke up, their bond remained unshaken, and they stayed best friends throughout high school. After graduation, they rekindled their romance the summer after senior year. During college, they led Young Life together, sharing a deep passion for God and serving others. In 2017, they got married, and in 2019, they welcomed their first daughter, Gracie. In 2024, they expanded their family with the adoption of their son, Asher, and the birth of their second daughter, Tirzah. They now live in Finneytown with their three children, and love serving their community.

We had been in school together since kindergarten. Knew each other in high school but ran with different crowds. My first memory of her is her green leotard and her dance number she performed in our 5th grade talent show. We both went our separate ways after school. 20 years later we reconnected through FB. Been together since 2020, and married almost 2 years.

Ben and I first met at Whitaker Elementary School, but we didn’t truly get to know each other until high school. During my junior year, Ben asked me out on a date to go shoe shopping and have lunch between exams—and the rest is history. We’ve now been married for almost 22 years and have two amazing children.

We met in x-period orchestra class. We were interested, but never dated in high school. We reconnected in 2023 through facebook, not knowing that each other were divorced. We are currently engaged and plan to marry in December. Even though we don't have memories together, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Finneytown!

Jon & I 're-met' in 2006 at a fundraiser in honor of a fellow graduate, Michael Bany. Our first date was to a Finneytown middle school basketball game at which my daughter was cheering! Eighteen months later we were married❤️ & Jon moved into my home here in Finneytown where we still reside. Funny, but while in high school we never exchanged a word & now we never stop talking.

Marge and I started dating our senior year at Finneytown. We had so much goofy fun together, and she was so cute! We dated throughout our college years, although at separate schools, and married two weeks after we graduated in May 1983. Now, almost 42 years later, we're still going strong, and love being high school sweethearts.

We have been married for 23 years and met in Mr. Haas' typing class! We have two teenage boys, one at Ohio University. Shane is a principal of a local high school and Liz is a high school counselor. Both of our families still live in Finneytown! 

Our lockers were next to each other when we were juniors. Mike walked me home from a homecoming float meeting and held my hand. I told my mom I would never wash my hand again. The rest is history. We were married in 1975 and have our 50th wedding anniversary this year!

Rachel Sauer & Mike Steel knew of each other in high school but didn't meet until after college. They were both out with friends from Finneytown and ran into each other. 5 months later they were engaged and married a year after that! Now they have 3 kids and live in Finneytown.
