Alumni Weekend 2026: Built by Finneytown
What a weekend.
Alumni Weekend 2026 brought Finneytown graduates, families, friends, volunteers, and supporters together for a few days filled with old memories, new connections, and a shared look toward what comes next.
From the golf course to the school halls to a sold out room at The Grove, the weekend was a reminder that Finneytown is something we carry with us, no matter how many years have passed.
September 25: A Perfect Start at Glenview
Alumni Weekend got off to a great start with the Jim Dickerson Finneytown Alumni Golf Scramble at Glenview.
With 148 golfers and a tremendous group of volunteers, the day had everything you could ask for: great people, plenty of Finneytown spirit, and perfect weather.
A special congrats to the winners:
First Place - Joey Meyer, David Tenbosch, Benny Misner, Chris Moses
Second Place - Jake Mayer, Jim Dickerson, Harry Raleigh, and Thomas Raleigh
Thank you to everyone who came out to play, volunteer, cheer on friends, and help make the day such a great start to the weekend.
September 26: Walking Through the Years
The campus tour brought graduates from across the decades back through the building.
Dozens of alumni, including members of the Classes of 1971 and 1976 celebrating their reunions, walked the halls together. At every stop, memories came back to life.
A classroom. A hallway. A familiar corner of the building.
For some, it had been decades since they walked those halls. Yet the connections were still there.
That is part of what makes Finneytown special. The years may change, but the feeling of belonging remains.
September 26: A Night to Remember
The weekend came together at the Legacy Celebration at The Grove, where 160 attendees filled a sold out room.
Old friends found each other across the tables. Stories were shared. Laughter filled the room. And more than a few moments brought tears to our eyes.
We also celebrated the newest members of the Finneytown Hall of Fame:
The 1976 State Champion Soccer Team
Steve Immelt
Dr. Mary Lynne Dittmar
Darryn G. Chenault
Their stories reminded all of us of what Finneytown produces: people who make a difference through athletics, education, leadership, service, creativity, and the many paths our graduates take into the world.
The evening also gave us a first look at the Finneytown our students will walk into in 2028.
That moment made the meaning of Built by Finneytown especially clear: We were shaped here. Now we get to help build what comes next.
Thank you to every inductee, family member, sponsor, volunteer, and friend who helped fill that room and make the evening so meaningful.
$71,000 and Counting
The generosity of this community was felt throughout the weekend, too.
Together, we have raised $71,000 and counting.
And there is still time to make your contribution go even further.
Every cash gift to the Finneytown Alumni Network is being matched dollar for dollar in 2026. There is no cap, and the match continues through December 31.
Every gift matters. Every person who shows up becomes part of the story.
Carrying It Forward
Alumni Weekend is about more than coming back.
It is about remembering where we came from, reconnecting with the people who helped shape us, celebrating those who came before us, and investing in the students who will come next.
Thank you for making Alumni Weekend 2026 such a meaningful celebration of the people and community that make Finneytown what it is.
See you in 2027.
