Legacy Project Update: New Bleachers Installed

If you walk into the Competition Gym today, you’ll notice something new—the bleachers are in, and they’re ready to use ahead of schedule. This exciting update is possible because of the early donations from alumni and community members who believe in investing in Finneytown’s future.

The bleachers are another visible step in a much larger effort. The Legacy Project is about renovating and revitalizing two of Finneytown’s most iconic spaces—the Competition Gym and the William R. Swartzel Performing Arts Center. For decades, these places have been the heart of Finneytown’s spirit. They’ve held buzzer-beaters and championships, opening nights and standing ovations, tears and triumphs, and countless memories of what it means to be a Wildcat.

But after more than 50 years of use, they need renewal. The state is funding classrooms in the new high school set to open in 2027, but it won’t cover upgrades to the Gym or the PAC. That’s where we, the alumni and community, step in. Together, we have a chance to ensure these spaces continue to inspire Wildcats for the next half-century.

The goal is bold: raise $3.5 million—with a stretch goal of $5 million—to restore the gym and PAC to their rightful place as central hubs for athletics, creativity, and community. Every contribution moves us closer to that future.

And here’s your chance to be part of it:
On Saturday, September 27th, we’re gathering at The Grove Event Center for the Legacy Celebration—an evening of connection, inspiration, and investment in the future of Finneytown. You’ll hear stories, celebrate milestones, and see firsthand how the Finneytown Alumni Network is bringing the Legacy Project to life.
